CR 480 crank the same as CR 450?

Hi I was wondering if the crank out of an 81 CR 450 is the same as the crank from an 82 cr 480? Thanks!

They at least share the same stroke as the 480's...the 450 is 85mm x 76mm...

Thanks guys, I guess they are different, they both have different part numbers, although I have heard of situations where this was not the case. as in, same part different numbers. I guess I have to fork over the extra cash to do it right thanks!

Remember... Identical and interchangable are two different things... they may just be weighted differently... You might check the interchange on the bearings and primary gear... I think the flywheels physically interchange, and I know the 480 piston fits on the rod... I bet the 450 crank is lighter... If so...just weight match the pistons for correct balance....the 450 was known for having a lightswitch powerband...unlike the mellow 480...

Man I should be able to answer your question after having owned about 10 480's and 450's, but I think old age is creeping up on me

Good luck though, and thankfully 480's arent on the endangered species list (yet) so I'd probably just find a replacement 480 crank and be done with it
