A stock yt125 only has a 6.0:1 compression ratio. On mine, I've installed a nos bassini exhaust. I've also picked up a webco head for a dt125 which should bump up the compression. You can get a different rear sprocket which should help. The earlier yt125's had a smaller carb than the later yt125's. I've picked up a nos 84-85 carb which helps. I hope to be adding a new piston and rebore so I should be good to go. Make sure your chain is correctly adjusted and your wheel bearings are in good shape. The yt125's have alot of potential, you just have to coax it out of them.
