    Engine Troubles

I'm new here so I'll give a bit of background information on myself first because this seems to be quite the close knit forum. I'm from Blackville, New Brunswick (Population 986) and I've owned my threewheeler for the past 3 1/2 years. It was pretty much given to me by a guy who lives down the road from me. As you can see by my username it is a 1985 200m. It came to me in good shape... and let's just say it's had better days after having a few accidents with it.

This year I couldn't get it to run after cleaning the carb multiple times and changing the fuel filter (thought it might be dirt from the gas tank, I'm in need of a new one), along with fuel lines and rinsing the gas tank out. I had a new timing chain put on it last year so I thought the timing might be off so I took it to a guy I know who is fairly good with them and he checked the timing and it was on and he loosened the needle valves a bit and it started to run. A few days after I noticed the engine start to skip and now I'm back to it not starting again. I haven't taken it back to the guy yet because I still need to find another gas tank because mine is shot. It's full of debris and the valve for On/Off/Reserve is broke somehow and it leaks gas.

You guys seem like the people that would know what is happening, so does anyone have an answer to my problem?

    Thanks.

Here's a few pics. I'd post a short video, but I have no helmet on in it and the forum rules state that that is not allowed :S

Do you mean that the mechanic adjusted the HEAD valves? If your tank is that dirty go ahead and take your carb off and go through it real good. cleaning every jet. Even though your running a fuel filter there still might be trash getting into the jets and clogging them.
There is a screen filter in your petcock (fuel on/off/reserve) that most likely needs to be cleaned.
Also, check your spark plug and air filter.

It has a new new spark plug and I'll clean the petcock tonight and check the air filter. And I think it was the head valves, my memory is not the best. As soon as I get another gas tank though I'll clean the carb again. I don't have an air compressor for cleaning the jets perfectly, but me just blowing through them is sufficient though right?
