common problems with alt50

what are some common problems some of you have had with suzuki alt 50 the one have runs great some day and others it wont even start its driving me crazy

There is some sort of check-valve right where the fuel line connects to the top of the carburator, mine had some jelly-looking stuff in it, I guess it was old gas, any way mine was doing the same thing, and on the days it would run, it would spill gas out of the carburator vent. My local Honda dealer found it,cleaned the valve,and it now runs like a new one! Give it a shot
