how to rebuild pull start cable

Hey guys, i just got a 1983 atc200 no revers or hi low so im assuming its just the 200... anyway it had been sitting for 6+ years so i took the carb apart and cleaned it all out and it started right up basically (gotta love a honda) anyway after i got it firered op ONCE the cabble broke and i nearly punched myself in the face... so how do i rebuild it or just put in a new cable.. never dealt with a pullstart so is it as simple as taking off the cover and putting in some rope??? i didnt want to take the cover off and have a bunch of springs or clips or anythign fly out never to be found......

uhh is there anyway to post a picture or only ones aleady on the internet?

looking for a 350x. would trade the 200x and/or 110's for one plus some cash if needed. PM me if you got one.

i had a 1983 atc 200, they go great in the mud.
anyway, i had to rebuild my pull starter too, dont do it if you dont have the instructions, or manual, i pulled mine apart and a bunch of little spring, pieces, and ratchet dogs fell out. i bought the pull start rebuild kit off of eBay for $65, and put it on. it never worked right. i had to grind it with a bench grinder, cut, and mod it a little and it never worked right. you would pull it, the engine would start, and the rope would stay out and you would have to give little pulls on the rope, or rev the engine to get the rope to go back in. once the engine was warm, it worked half the time. well what do you want from aftermarket stuff? Its either aftermarket or no pull start. Just my $.02
