    200x pro circuit exhaust done.

Well I finally got my hands on a shortened pro circuit exhaut off of ebay. All it needed was minor modification and some metal to make a little mounting extender. I cut the head pipe a couple inches up from where the old cobra inlet was and used tapered piece of metal off of another old cobra I had to make the slightly larger 400ex inlet fit onto the cobra header. Thats basically all there was to it. No welding or anything, and so far im real happy how it came out. Its not overly loud but has a real nice deep sound to it. Ill also get more pics later after I put a couple clamps on it.

Everything worked out alot easier than I thought it ever would. Only thing left is get the tank repainted gloss white and make a better fender support so it wont melt off the much larger 400ex inlet.

Actually, believe it or not its quieter than my old cobra was. The cobra had that high pitched tone that I hated. This has that really deep tone to it thats much better than my old cobras.

God I know what you mean. I went riding with this guy once, and he had a Cobra "Quiet" pipe on his Honda 300 4x4. Jeez, I had to pass him up and stay in front because that thing was so annoying, it was like a straight pipe. No packing, really rattley and buzzy sounding. Just... a waste of money, I think.

I dont think cobra really puts effort into making there exhausts decently good. The first 2 weeks I had my cobra the mount snapped right off after I went over a small jump. Then after I welded that, the little screw holding in the end cap fell out so im stuck on the trail with no core or packing and had to ride home with a terribly loud exhaust. If you want a decent exhaust for a 200x I would say 400ex aftermarket all the way. Its real simple to do and sounds SWEET. Only thing with a brand new aftermarket is that there longer than my shortened on so it might stick out more. I got this one for pretty cheap and decided to give it a shot, definatly worth it!

No, they do not. I had a Cobra Megaphone that I used as a snowmobile silencer, and when I replaced the packing, the screw holding the core in broke in half as I was loosening it, so I basically had to drill a hole in the core, stick a long bolt through the silencer and use a worm clamp, and I ran it like that for a winter.

Cobra exhaust = cheap p.o.s., you should spend the extra 50 bucks and go for something else.
