    250r ??

Will the old trx 250r's keep up with the newer machines. I was going to put a yz 250 motor in my blaster but i figured it would be cheaper and easier to buy a 250r.
What do you all think. I would rather buy a 250r for $3000 than a new bike for 6-7. Let me know what you guys think. I will need to get rid of my blaster to get one. If you all know where there is one at in mo let me know I found one for $3000 i have to call about it yet.

There is an 88 250R in Cimarron ks (southwest corner). I think $2,500 can buy it it has a esr 6? pipe and many other mods, including a new topend. Not sure where your at in Mo but it might not be that far for ya.

Tell me about your blaster, my boy is just about ready for a bigger quad.

a 250r can keep up with the rest of the new bikes, but all depends on what kind of shape its in, mods and most importantly THE RIDER. Ie: a bike modded for duning, longer swinger, taller gearing, dune suspension, top end port job and pipe, huge carb, is gonna be horrible for mx and trails.

250R VS. banshee, 450R, YFZ, LTR and another 250R

The R is very capable of running with the new bikes. I run a stock bore cylinder with some exellent port work and have no problem hanging with the 450's. 250r's would still be dominating the tracks if it wern't for the production rules. I've only seen 2 fast 450's at the track and they both had bigbore cylinders in them. I know one was a 525 and was a good match to my 250r.

Well I picked up a honda 250r from Desoto MO. It has some motorwork done. Ftz did it. I will post some pics later. It is a pretty sweet bike. I had no problem keeping up with my friends suzuki 450r. I love the power of the 2 stroke. Is $2,500 a pretty decent price for one because that is how much I paid.

To make a long story short, NO. Honda were always more superior to the zuke. The quadracers were always plagued with weak motors. Kinda like the blaster.
