    is there a way to test

    1. cdi on 85 250sx
    2. regulator rectifier on same bike

    just want to know to see if they are bad or not the bookl only seams to have me test the wireing

    Which book is this? You usually know what the regulator is going bad, as you will constantly blow out light bulbs and ruin batteries.

    if the regulater/rectifier is bad will i still get spark?

    Yeah. I had a couple of old Arctic Cat sleds back in the day and I stuffed big engines into them, they'd run fine with no volate regulator. It just keeps your 12 volt current flowing at a steady rate so you don't get surges of power when you hit the gas.

    what about the cdi are there some figures like ohms or something else on cdi tests ?
