Check out this article. It has an interesting sentence in middle paragraph,
    mid way down.

Can it be taken as fact??????

(Thanks to Dan again at 3wheeler.org for posting this article)

Ok i've said it many times before so i won't say it again but, i will say this call up any Canadian or European or Austrailian Honda dealership and ask them for some parts for a 87 250R (or 350X) such as fenders (i always wanted a set of Factory Honda White 250R fenders). this should end the debate

In Canada, all the 1987 atc350x and 87 250r part are listed on the microfiche but they all finish by 000 ex: 123 654 778 000 so nothing is available...I already ask for a ignition key for a 350x, i saw the drawing but the number finish by000 Oh well!!!

I do have the magazine from the link...And the original canadian atc 1987 dealer flyer!!!

Ok, some of you guys won't beileve me, but a visitor of the site recently has been doing some "work" to find out about the 87 high perf Honda's. I have in my access parts numbers for 87 ATC250R cosmetic parts. Honda of Japan recognizes these numbers as "legitment part numbers" But they are not allowed to sell them unless a person can verify they have the machine the parts belong on (vin). I've got alot of other cool information about European 87 ATC's that you guys will also like. But this information isn't getting released to anyone for any reason until I've got a little more information. Just a big teaser for you guys :-)

Be careful what you say. Some of us crazy gun collectors might pay you a visit to get such valuable information. And man, if you could get a vin for an 87 R you could make so much money selling it!!!
It ain't no fun unless you kin git hurt doin it.

Bill I was just as skeptical as you and everyone else at first but this person has provided me with some very credible evidence so far, and the back tracking he has done. Perhaps in the next update I will have some basic information for everyone, but I'm not sure yet.
