    Adjusting auto clutch

Guys - have an '85 TRX250 (engine looks similar to Big Red) and the nut that locks the clutch adjusting bolt is stuck. Any ideas on how to loosen this from the bolt? The whole assembly spins, so it is changing the clutch adjustment, but I can't do it like the manual describes.

Also, is there an adjuster on an '84 ATC200M? Don't have that manual - is there a procedure?

Both of these bikes shift kinda hard if the engine revs are up. Also, when loading the engine/trans in a gear that's higher than it should be, it feels like the clutch slips (kinda like an auto backshift). Are these normal characteristics, or do they indicate clutches need adjusting?
