We used to run the castrol in our sleds, we'd run a couple quarts of castrol then a couple of cat oil. The only difference i ever noticed was the castrol had a stronger odor to its exhaust. Not a big deal unless you're the last one in a long line of riders...

Good but what are your other available options?

I'd go with Maxima 927 or Klotz BeNol at 32:1.

Well, i have 2 liters of castrol left and Id like to use it. Man, I mixed it 20:1 like it says on the tank but its smokey as heck. Do you guys think I can get away with 32:1? Whats a good oil that burns fairly clean? Well...less smokey.

It's probably fine but a 2 stroke doesn't get much lubrication when you think about it. So, I like to use one of the oils that has seemed to work great for years - Golden Spectro, Maxima, Bel-Ray, Blue Marble etc etc etc.

I run the cheaper oils in mopeds but thats just me.

But, for a 4 stroke tranny that gets soaked in a whole quart of oil, I use Valvoline or other average oils - 10$ for 5 quarts....

dont run so rich or you'll be changing plugs every ride. 2 stroke oils have come very far in the last 20 years. I run 40:1 in my air R and Z with either Klotz Benol or Amsoil Interceptor. Interceptor is supposed to burn cleaner but I can still get a cloud going

I ran the semi syn. yamalube in my air R at 32:1 and it really didn't smoke too badly, well it didn't kill the bugs in three counties but you could see some blue...
