200x missing in the upper rpm's.

I have a 1984 honda 200x, It starts first or secont kick every time. in the lower rpm's it's great, but lately when I get into higher rpm's it starts missing real bad and looses power.

    Any ideas?

It has a new NGK in it, Air filter is clean and I cleaned out the carb right after I noticed it, no affect what so ever.

Have you put on an after-market exhaust or changed the air box in anyway? It sounds like your running lean on the top end.

No aftermarket box, But I to run it with the lid off. I had a home made pipe on for a little while (wasn't a full system, just a slip on pipe were the can goes on.), was way to loud. I changed it back to the original can the next day and it didn't help much.

put the airbox lid back on and see if its any better, if it is then your problem is jetting. You can also just do some plug chops.

I put the lid back on, that fixed it. I would like to run it with the lid off, Because it gives it better air flow, Will I need a bigger jet for it to run smooth? if so any suggestions on the size? it has a 108 main jet in it now.

Just go up 1 size at a time and check your plug frequently to make sure you're doing it right.

Thx for the help guys, one last question. Were is the best place to get jets... I'd like to get several different sizes not just one at a time.
