    Jet Question

I have a 200s engine, but it has a 200x top part. I'm guessing it is because it's black. Well from my understanding 200x and 200s carbs are the same? I have a cobra exhaust, and a uni filter. What size jet should I have on for best performance/speed? I've never opened it up because when I got the bike I've been redoing the whole thing but the engine was good, but now it's not idiling right. Thanks also does a bigger carb improve performance, or how about a carb from an XR200r. Thanks

    200s/x top end

for all practical purposes, the top ends are the same on both the 200s and the 200x. The primary difference is the 200s has a compression relief valve (right side of the rocker box on the exhaust valve), and the cam lobe lift/duration is a little different. I just finished building a 200x with a 185s head and rocker box (same as 200s). I'm using the stock 200x cam, a dg header, 10:1 piston (1x oversize), and uni filter. I currently have a .110 main jet in the carb and it seems to idle just fine. My throttle cable is toast, and I have to put about 10 hours of easy (1/2 throttle or less, and no throttle bursts) riding on it before i can tell you exactly how that jet's going to work out. I'll let you know something after i get 2 or 3 good hours on it, and read the plug.

I'm not certain about the xr200r carb, but i think it's the same as the stock 200x carb (24mm I think).

Thanks for the reply mountainrider. I'm just trying tyo get some more speed, quick. I have the same problem idiling on my 185s, which has a 200s engine. I'm going to try a .110 jet and go smaller from there until I find comfort. Olive I sent you a pm. Thanks

I am almost sure the 200x carburetor is bigger. The 200x carb is a 24mm and the 200s a 22 I think. I know the settings are different. the 200x has a lot bigger main jet.............. -D
