Better 350X rear suspension, anyone toyed with it?

The 250R definately soaks up the rear end better than the 350X. But, I'm wondering if a 450R swinger could be modified to work on a 350X.

The stock 350X rear4 isn't bad but it has something left to be desired.

Has anyone tried to modify the 350X swingarm and suspension??

Isn't the 450R swinger quite a bit longer than the 350x?

Not sure about longer but I had my 250r setting beside it and the r has a plus 2" swinger. They were about the same length from front tire to rear tires.

    Plus 2 is OK by me. But, I thought he put a 450R swinger on a Z chassis - not a 350X.

As usual, anything can be made to fit anything. I'm just wondering what can be done without a ton of mods or affecting the stock air box.

brian (452x) had elka custom make a rear shock for his 350x with the 452 kit. it cost like $800 i think but it would be better than the price of back surgery lol

one thing we do to 250x/300ex quads is to use a 250r shock and get a custom swingarm made....basically its a 250r swingarm made narrower to fit in the x frame and we use the x carrier piece.

the same could be done with a 350x and the r shock works sweet in the x quad frame

p.s.... we always use 85-86 atc 250r shocks. no real reason other then back when we first did this we had a source for new take off atc shocks.
    80s......185 atc, Yamaha tri-moto 200, 85 200x with tons of work
90s......89 Suzuki quad racer 250 (raced 250 A class for 6 years, late 90s.. custom framed 250x with long travel shocks and a built 350x motor.... built Honda 110
00s...... chomeoly framed 350 RX with all the goodies (thanks to my bro)
    2012.....Replaced the 350x motor for a 444cc YZ426

Mike and I are probably ordering Works shocks for our 350X's so I would be more than happy to see if they would do a bulk discount. We are also sending them 2 81-82 R Works shocks for a rebuild.I'lll let you know what they say.

    Lots O Trikes!!!!!

    350x

Go for the Works shock or their mod to your shock. I'm very happy with my $200 shock mod for my 350x. Bob
