    need to tighten my chain

    ineed to tighten the chain on my 85' atc70, how do i do it?
    1985 350x
    1985 atc70

    2006 ltz400
    2017 z125pro

    I had the same problem with mine - see the sig. So I took it in to the honda dealer. They told me that the chain that is used is special and that you cannot tighten it and that I need a new one! Keep that in mind. If you are in canada, they cost around $80. Just thought I'd let you know.

    The chain is adjustable. I don't have the manual here in front of me either. So.. Going from memory the adjuster nut is inside the frame in back. You need to loosen the nut and push up ( I think ) to tighten the chain. Tighten the nut back down and your done.

    If I remember right, I think after you take the chain cover off they have a chain tensioner that you adjust instead of moving the carrier. Its been a while. I also seem to remember a point where you run out of adjustment, but if you take a link out its too short, too, but #420 chains are so cheap it was easier to replace it.
