BigRed tyre question.

Hi, just changed the rear tyres on the BigRed, finally took off the seriously worn out (smooth!) 25x12/9 oem's and fitted some part worn 6ply 20x11/9 Maxxis Razr's (only coz they were free! What a cheapskate!). Problem is, they won't seat on the bead properly. Took them up to 30psi and don't want to go any further! Any suggestions?
Anyone had any traction issues with them? The tread on these seem to fill up with mud then it gets stuck, more so than the bald oem's.
I do intend to put fullsize tyres on it when some become available, but, well, after all's said and done, free is free!

Soapy water will help the beads slide into place.

I dont kow if it a good idea, but here we use vegetable oil ( a.k.a Crisco) to seat the bead.????
Must be bad ass a Big red with some RAZR!!!!

I've had stubborn beads before. One day I was messing around trying to get a bead to seat, took it up to about 40psi and still couldn't get it to pop out. Then it hit me, I was working in my garage with a concrete floor. I bounced the tire/wheel combo like a basketball up and down on the floor. I pushed it down hard with two hands, it bounced back up maybe 5 feet. I proceeded bouncing the tire around the garage for maybe 5 minutes then pop, the bead set and has been fine ever since. According to my catalog the big red rims are 9 x 9, just like the 250r, 350x and 400ex....

Thats what I was wondering, so there shouldn't be any physical reason for them not to fit?
What running pressure would you recommend?

You need to find a shop that has one of those bead seating machines. I had to do this to the old school blue duro tires since the side walls were so hard. What they do is remove the valve and steadily pump in air and then take this tool and put on the edge of the rim and immediately turn on valve. This pumps a huge amount of air in the tire at once and usually works atleast after the first few times.
