350X Choke questions - Starting

Cleaned out the Carb and intake tubes -

Now when i went to kick it over i put the choke on / Middle and kicked but nothing

, Then i put the Choke on the Last spot and nothing ....


Return to No Choke - and it started right up , So i figured i turned the choke on so it could warm up but it dies if i turn it on ?

Any ideas why it dies with the choke on ? ?

and why it wont turn over if the Choke is on ? ? ?

On my 86 350X I use full choke/no gas. One or 2 kicks and it farts, then I drop down to mid choke or no choke and 1 kick and it's idling.

Lots of people have trouble with the 350X. I imagine it's either jetting or a tired motor. Mine starts easy and I never bother with TDC either....

Jetting is off? Maybe it's running too rich and the full/half choke is too much and it kills it?

Or, maybe the jetting is good, but the enrichening jet (or the choke plate) restricts the air flow just a little too much and doesn't let the machine start, but when you load up the cylinder with raw fuel, then turn the choke off and it gets enough air, it starts right up?

get the jetting dead on then you dont have to use the choke

Sound's to me like you have the jetting off also.mainly the slow jet on the bottom,and you probably set the idle to run with the jetting off,chance's are that you have the idle up so far that when you go to start the machine ,your in a sence flooding it out.Just an idea.Is it a QA 05 or 10 and what year is the x?

not sure on how to fix your problem but i dont evan use the choke to start mine just 3 kicks and quarter throttle!
