truck tires

I am getting ready to buy some new tires for my truck and I'd like some mudders. I was wondering what you all have had the best luck with, I'm mostly interested in a set that will wear good.

Any suggestions?

How much mudding, what kinda mud and how much you looking to spend?

Most of the guys I know use Super Swamper TSL's, were mostly thick mud and rocks up here. If yor doin some hard core mudding and have the power to go with it you cant go wrong with Boggers.

For just the occasional mud hole and daily driving the BFG All Terrain T/A's Which i'm putting on my ranger once I get my lift in.

They are a bit on the heavy side, but wear like iron. You wouldn't be disappointed with these.

I have the Firestone Detination M/T's on my Bronco. Great tire, but only had about 5k mils on them so not sure of their life expectancy

my buddy has TSL'S on his truck, the road wore them out in about 2 years

TSL's don't hold up to the road miles, if you can find a Kumho dealer, thier traction m/t tires wear well and do pretty good in the mud. I have 35/12.50's on my F-150 and I can usually get 40000 miles or so out of them. They're also about half the price of swampers.

I have Cooper Discoverer STTs on my Toyota Tacoma. not only are they AWESOME in the mud, but are so quiet on the road, you hardly know they are there. They also feature these really cool sidewall lugs. Kinda spendy though

Some guys here refuse to run anything but Boggers, even though they don't actually mud bog, and if they did, their Dana 35's and 44's would snap like matchsticks. Personally I like the look of the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A's, and you can get them in virtually any size you need. Another good "all around" design is the Super Swamper Thornbirds, they have less lug-gaps between the lugs for a quieter road ride but are still good for mud. They're a bit heavier than the BFG's though.

I just went through the process of getting tires for my truck. I looked at everything from highway, all terrain, and off road tires. From what I found I went with an on/off road tire that is susposed to hold up pretty well. They are an off brand tire (made by BFGoodrich). I got American Prospect AT 265/70/17. They really spiced up the look of my Tundra, the tires that came on them were 265/65 and looked really small, I know i only went up 1 size but it made a real difference and these tires were pretty cheep but have an awesome/agressive tread. I havent had a chance to get into any mud or such due to the lack of rain. I know the tires arnt mudders but if your going to run on the road if I were you I wouldnt get mudders cause from what I have seen/know, they will turn to slicks pretty quickly.

I have Dayton Timberlines on my F250, they make a bit of noise.... but I absolutly love the grip!
