If your not a professional mechanic and only going to use it a few times per year I would buy something from Sears. If your going to use it all the time then I would buy nothing other then a Snap On.
I had the RIGHT to remain silent, I didn't have the ability!
I love my sears torque wrenches. 3/8 and 1/2 clicker type. They are 60$ on sale each with the Craftsman club discount.
All our government does is distract us while they steal from us, misspend our tax $ and ruin our country
Buy a snap-off if you're loaded. Trust me you'll need to be. The Mac ones are just as good or better and less expensive.
Strap-on is the King of over priced.
There is other companys out there besides Mac, Snap-On, and Matco that make great tools. Take a look at S&K, Proto, and Armstrong. I have an Armstrong and S&K clicker. Both are great but I like the Armstrong the best. Ive got about $125 in the Armstrong. Do you have to have a digital one?
Belive it or not the Harbor Freight are set accurate from the factory. There were some people on a diesel site that sent a bunch off to be types to be tested & it was good. Just don't leave it with tension on the spring when you are done.
Does not have to be digital. A clicker type would be just fine.
Going to check out the local stores here shortly.

Im just not a big fan of digital tools. I guess theres nothing wrong with them. Heres what happened just while ago though. Ive been sick for the last few days. Well my mom stops by the drugstore to get me a thremometer. Shes comes back with the latest, and greatest digital $20 thermometer. Well for some reason it wont take the temp. But it will say ERR. Id rather have an old school one anyday.
Everyone seems to fail to mention another high quality tool brand that is up to par with Snap-On but with out the ridiculous prices of them... Blue-Point.

Snap on digital torque wrench with torque anle built in is running around 5-700 bucks.I am a professional auto-tech and I would never spend that kinda money on one. That is insane.I can get nice trikes for that kinda money.I use Precision Tools split beam torque wrenches. 165 bucks for the 1/2 inch drive 40- 250 footpounds. They last longer than the oldstyle clicker types.
If you have a Carquest parts dealer,Check them.Thier prices are fair and the carry SK and the one I just mentioned. They also carry some knock-off digital types too.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

I thought Blue Point was older Snap On??
Unless I were working on precision equipment or a drag racing engine builder, I would never cough up 500$ for a torque wrench.
That wrench Mosh has posted seems like a nice middle priced option. I still love my Craftsman wrench though. But, there power tools stink...
