I need some tires for an 82 ATC 200 and I am not sure which ones.. Its an "all purpose" machine
I like the idea of running 22 x 10 x 9's - it is a 1982
what are you guys running - or recommend?
thanks

I recommend what I have on mine - 25X12X9 knobbies (Cheng Shin or Kings or Equivalent). They give a soft ride - but not the best for handling. You'll need to over Exaggerate your body english - but for traction and ride - I recommend them.

What about some wooly boogers??
Jason
I think I have narrowed it down ... there are not many 22" tires that I like
22x11x9 6ply Maxxis Razr or 22x10x9 Dunlop KT175
I have had some cheng shen's that were made from seriously hard rubber - is that all of them - or just some models?
any feedback on these two tires?
(I don't know what a wolly booger is - unless it has my DNA on it......)

Wooly Boogers are a ideal choice for a 200. Got them on mine, and I love em.
TF 07,08,09,10,11,12,13,14!
Raffa's IceFest 08, 09, 10,11,13!
SAY IT!!!!!BUD LIGHTS AND RED LIGHTS!!!!!!
I never found any wooly boogers... any links?
I am liking these dunlops......

I had wooley boogers on mine, they worked great, especially in the mUd.
Here is one link, just to show you a pic, don't know if there is a cheaper place to buy.
http://www.gemplers.com/atv/atvsupplies/G61015.html
Also to add, I just got a 200x with ITP mud lites on it, and they seem a little better than the wooley boogers, but haven't tried them in the mud yet. They seem to have gobs of traction.
I also second the 25x12-9 Cheng Shing knobbys. I am running them on my Atc200. I think they are the stock tire for that bike if I'm not mistaken. I like to run them at the recommended 2 psi and NO MORE!! Any more psi and they will be a little bouncy. If ran at or under 2 lbs they will mold over just about anything you point them at. I am really pleased with how smooth mine ride on rocky roads; better than some of my suspended bikes infact. They are also a radial tire, which will give you a better ride compared to the stiff bias tires for riding over bumpy terrain.
They have been a very versital tire. Everything from dirt, rocks, snow, and sand.
BTW, they kick butt on the snow cuz of their giant footprint and lightweight combination with an ATC200.
Another choice I've wanted to try if you are into the snow, sand, and mud a lot, take a look at the Zippers and Pro Wedge 2. I havent ever ran them before but I want to when I get the chance. I thought about getting one for the rear of my BW to try on the sand. From what I can tell. they have the same makeup and structure type as the Cheng shin tires, only they just have a different tread pattern. And I have heard good reviews for them.

ever used any turf tamers? nice and soft 2ply so their light and not a bad ride, just keep a tire plug kit on hand if your worried about leaks. they are soft enough for a smooth ride but they have a somewhat flat profile instead of the big rounded balloon tires. they would be a good all around tire if you stay away from the deep thick mud.
Riverrat are you on Crack? i mean that site geesh, the prices are outrageous. sorry but that site is a joke. Anyhoo, here are some RAZR knockoffs for $34 a piece, my uncle just ordered them so i can let you know how they work in a week or so.
Heres the wooley booger/stryker tire which is $50.
WWW.tiresunlimited.com has some good prices on tires and carries a ton of styles. heres the link i got the tires and prices at, they are made by nankang. The site carries many different tire makers though. http://www.tiresunlimited.com/nankang_atv_tires.htm
