I do not have one currently on any of mt Trikes but , back in the day we made our own for our race Quads and I believe this would look correct on an older Trike. (this is what I am planning on doing for mine). We used a steering dampner off a VW (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Steer...33957619QQrdZ1) and cut off the end mount and welded a heim joint to it. From there just make up a mount to bolt it to the frame and had mounts made to clamp it to the steering stem. If you use the VW one I think you should be able to bolt it to the triple camp and just need to make a rear mount. Remember to try and set it up so the travel is center, (wheel straight the shaft should be half way through the travel.) Let us know how you make out.

Keeps the bars jerking around to a minimum, allows you to have better control, smoother operation. Very good when racing as well.

    Plus they are ultra trick!

i had one off a trike years ago and it had a 4 inch rod screwed to the end of the shaft to make it longer

hmmm, sounds interesting. Would one provide too much resistance and make your arms tired if riding on the trails?

no....it makes you less tired since you dont have to hang on so tight or fight it at all

the closer to the center of the triple you mount it, it is easyer to turn

the closer to the fork tube makes it harder

I have an old RAM stabalizer on my 450 3 wheeler. It Is an old school unit made to fit a 350x. It works great, helps big time on a rutted up MX track. You really don't notice It's on their, unless you turn the bars when sitting still. It has some noticable resistance when going slow, but Is'nt noticable when riding normal.

    Cliff2302

Here are some pics of Cliff's oldschool racer he nabbed from another member. It has the VW stabilizer with the adjuster threaded on the end.

    Very cool trike IMO.

I definately need a stabilizer for the high speed run on the ponds this winter as well as the choppy fire roads that I have access to.

I read somewhere that the stabilizers where good to have when popping wheelies and landing on the return. Helped keep wheels straight and under control. I wouldn't know though, I dont own one. I could definitaly see how it would help on the trials though.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
