    where can I buy perferated steel for a silencer?

    yep jsut what the title says, I need to make a new perferated steel insert for my silencer where can I get that from? or if any one has any or an old silecer thats no good but gots good steel inside I need some please

    You should use wire mesh. It'll open up more of the packing to your exhaust sound waves, so it'll be quieter. If you're worried about it breaking, double wrap it and then tack weld it together.

    like expanded steel? I thought about it but the thinnest thats avail that will bend to make it work apears to be to weak.

    I might have an old core from a bills silencer off a blaster. I can look around and see if I can find it if it would work.
    1986 200x- old school D.I.D wheels, Gold D.I.D X-Ring Chain, Rad MFG. Carrier, PRM Grab Bar, Pro Circuit T-4 custom, Maier plastics, 85x forks, 18x10.5x8 kenda klaw mxr's on itp steels, the money pit never ends

    2004 YFZ450 - CP 12.5:1, cam mod , gibson nerfs, hmf pipe, protaper bars + risers, dg bumper/skids, holeshot gncc's on itps, cycra handguard and more stuff to come.

    crap! I should have posted later last night, I found a ol fmf turbine core silencer and chopped it up for the middle part, wich worked great with alittle welding, thanx guys for helpin out!

    I just finished making a muffler for my 185S last week, I just drilled 1/4" holes in a piece of thin wall pipe, Not idel but it worked, I'm just getting it tuned in with stainless steel wool now to get a nice mellow tone at idle-cruise and a nise loud crack when its wide open.
