    Honda Bearing Removal

What is the trick for removing the front hub bearings on my 200x? Ive been working away with no luck, seem like they are froze up or something. Any of you guys have any tricks to getting these things out?

Sounds like you don't have a good punch. You need a punch with a nice flat or blunt nose on it. Not a punch that is rounded. The seals get pryed out with a screwdriver but I use a 3/8 diameter punch that I grind flat on the face and it allows you to angle it inside the center tube to catch part of the inner race. You simply work it back and forth and tap them out easy but never tap on one edge so much that the bearing comes out extremely angled.

Once a bearings inner race is even lightly tapped, it's junk....

You need to remove the bearings like Dirtcrasher said but remember the bearing are pounded out from the inside of the hub towards the outside, so you will need a longer punch. There is a spacer tube in between the bearings it should slide to one side so you and get to the bearing from the oppasite end. Does that help?

Got the arm strength, just dont want to force it out. Been down that road, just end up buying new parts. Ill work it out like you said dirtcrasher, I didnt have a good setup before, but I will definatley try that criss cross method. Makes enough sense, just wanted to check in before I got too happy. Ill try and follow up, if I dont... remind me!

lol i would hope so. if it had been really hot before it blew there could be a chance he would have to cut it out. or get it pressed out.

Ok you old post digging whores ... I got them out, 2 years ago. I actually called chuck norris about the bearings, put the phone up to my front hub, and WALA. No, it really was that simple.
