    mustang tranny?

    ok my mustang is slipping gears but it also has a very bad tranny leak is the slipping of the gears do to the leak? no tranny oil? or do i need it rebuilt thanks
    1982 yamaha rx50.
    2001 murray minibike with 5hp.
    fully modded goped.

    If it's slipping and you have a leak it's just best to have it rebuilt

    low fluid will make it slip, BUT once it starts to slip it burns the clutches and will tear the tranny up in a hurry.

    yeah so best bet is to get it rebuilt i might want to sell it tho casue im 17 no job and tranny work is so much money, thanks for the help

    well if that be the case, try to fix the leak.. when you put tranny fluid, put some Lucas trans fluid, it helps with leaks, and def with the slipping problem. I have used their products on all my vehicles, regular and race and love it! works awesome

    see the thing is when it has fluid it wont slip when it dont it does thats y im thinking its a gasket./

    where is it leaking from? if it is leaking from a front or rear seal . drop the tranny and buy new seals for it. or if you drive it like a pi$$ed off teenager check all the lines you could have blowen a cooling line. if so repalce them. both are failry cheep to fix. is can a b@tch to drop a tranny.     don't tear it up man.fix it right.also it's a auto from a 5.0 liter?if so you can buy parts,or a replacement tranny cheap enough.

    ok thanks guys no i havent driven it yet its was my bros i check all fluids and stuff lol but yeah i might be getting a job at a sears around here in lawn and gardening section so im gonna have my moms mechanic fix it. thanks for the help.

    hey its it a standard T-5 tranny you can get a rebuild kit for $200 bones from summitracing.com
