Ehhh just grab one out of the junkyard if your lucky unless your trying for a T56 which is the choice tranny for it.. I have a T5 sitting around that I was planning on using for my oldsmobile but I may just sell the tranny instead

a T-56 6-speed transmission would be ideal, but you mentioned cost being the biggest factor. I recommend the Ford T-5 5-speed transmission which can be found in thunder birds and most mustangs. Read this its a LOT of useful info. http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2000/09/t5swap/

you need to use a 94-95 t-5 tranny with that year bell housing because input shaft is longer, or a 86-93 t-5 with one of those year bell housing's and a drive shaft spacer!. had a t-56 in my last street car, what a nice tranny but i traded it for my pro-shifted micronited g-force for my new car!

What kinda mods do you have on the Stang already? Unless you've got a decent flowing exhaust and intake, throttle body and manifold ain't gonna do much. I'd put money into a cold-air intake/exhaust/cam first, then add on the manifold and throttle body.

Well, maybe it'll do you some good then. Put a 'charger of some sort on it! Or bottle-feed it! Or a cam!

charger or turbo NO BOTTLE! Its not worth the extra stress on your engine and the lasting damage it will eventually cause.
