Bought a ATC295R today!! Cheap
Foundit on craigslist, dude said he wanted 1400 for it. He actually said it was a 330 bigbore, but I ran the piston number and it's on a 4th overbore of a 295 kit(or a 300cc). Anyways, it's been ported, reed cage ported, FMF pipe/silencer, Lectron carb runny on alkyhol, swingarm extended 6 inches, stainless steel braided front and rear brakelines, also SS braided throttle, and he said it's got "straight cut racing gears", it's a 4 speed he says? Anybody know anything about those...never heard of em. Anyways I bought it for 600 bucks, sound good? Costmetically, the plastics look good, but they've been rattlecanned black, I'm just gonna pressure wash thatjunk off. Now here's the bad part, he said he was drag racing it the other night, and he heard a little noise sounded like piston slap, so he pulled the top end off and the front side of the piston is a little scarred, he said it still had real good compression though. So I'm just gonna order a new piston and hone the cylinder. Also....changing from alchohol to gas....he said I have to change jets in the carb, anybody know about that too? I'm pretty excited to get it going....should smoke the Z!! Any my buddies YZ490...can't wait!
