I would say if it is a 86 and the six speed trans,And you dont mind dealing with some work,Snag it up.Try to get it for 500 bucks.The trans gears alone, if they are six speed gears,Are worth almost half the asking price.

are the fenders painted? does it shift smoothley threw all 6 gears? they are geting rare but that one judging by the appearance may have or need some work. offer him $400 and see what happens. make sure the case is not cracked from the kicker. look it over real good and as you see probelms think in your head what it will cost to get it looking and running good and set a price from there. good luck
