Question ***is a 85 FRAME DIFFERENT THAN AN 86 ON THE TRI Z

I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THE 86 AND 85 FRAME ARE DIFF ON A TRI Z
the reason why is i have a 86 tri z and the when you look at the front where the middle of the front tire would line of with the middle of the down tube it is kicked out a little to the left so would that me the frame is bent or the forks. i have a 85 frame to swith it over if that is the case but dont want to do that if it is a bad thing.

The frames were slightly different.Only where the coolant bottle mounts. On the 86 it mounted near the left footpeg. On the 85 the bottle went under the seat. The 86 had a different airbox setup too.The 86 airbox and tubes will not let you mount the 85 collant bottle. So if you make the switch, you would have to get the 85 airbox and snorkels and 85 coolant bottle. The swingarms were different too,but will interchange. The 85 front forks and tripples had more outward rake to them and were smaller in diameter. The 86 tripples and forks were raked in and had bigger tubes. As far as the frontend, all you can do is take the forks out and check them for being bent.My 85 mx z is very slightly tweaked up front and I am pretty sure it is in the frame.I have seen a few that looked that way.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...
