Something may be bent a little to make it ride poorly.Otherwise I was thinking the same thing about the sprockets.

    Is the chain on backwards????

hmmm are you sure its skipping ? i ask because when i had my chain on to tight it sounded like it was skipping but it was actually too tight and made a crunch clank sound (like a skipping chain would)
down to parts because i no longer have a place to ride trikes.

    GIT IT RAAAGGGGG !!!!

i don't think it is too tight because there is still a little slak in it and when i hear the noise it slows down until it stops then it continus on and so on with no end.
and if it was too tight why would it sound like it saw skiping

Are the splines stripped where the front sprocket mounts? A chain wouldnt just slip around the sprocket if there brand new. Even a highly worn sprocket dosent slide around the chain.

What kind of trike is this on? And what do you mean by slipping, does the chain fall off or does it feel like the chain is moving but not pulling the sprocket? Also something to check are 1) Is the hub for the sprocket on the axle stripped? and 2) If this is a suspended trike, is your chain loose or tight enough? If it is suspended, when no weight is on the trike, the chain should have some slack, but the more weight is put on it, the more the chain should tighten up, but still have a little slack when the shock is fully compressed. Does it have a centrifugal clutch on the front? Like a Briggs and Stratton style motor? If so, that might be slipping (and giving the appearance of the sprocket on the clutch rotating), otherwise, unless your sprocket is completly round with no teeth I cant think of anything else it might be...

This is the kind of clutch Im talking about.

I forgot about that, Its probably your clutch. On my X it seemed like it wasnt moving and was revving up. I replaced the clutch and its perfect now.
