It is direct bolt in - no mods needed - you'll need to re-jet for the SX though.

PS - how did your knee and foot heal up?

On a 250SX there is really no improvement - U N L E S S - you put on a better breathing pipe and open up the air box - then it is a whole lot different. If you are running a stock pipe - don't waste your time swapping it out.

I dunno Tim, A 350x carb on a stock SX gives you alot more bottom end, but of course you wont be able to release the "Untapped" power if the bike isnt modded

    - what about putting a 350x carb on a 250es? same thing?

    I have an 85 350x carb that I could put on the 85 250es.

Tim said it..... It's really beneficial when the AB lid is off and an exhaust is on there. Add a cam and HC piston and the SX is as good as it can get.

I guess I should start mine.... Been about 3 months now, LOL!!

hey DC - did you notice the "es" - or did you mean to type "es"? Or was that just a gen reply - not specific to my Q...

btw - I am just trying to swap it out to see if I can get rid of the "cold start"

The ES is a different animal. But has the same motor and I'm sure it would benefit too from the same upgrades as the SX gets. I'm just not sure what exhausts are around for the ES etc etc. Yes the 350X carb got rid of the cold start for me. Or it's as easy as drilling out the starter jet a couple of index sizes larger.

thanks dc.... there is a jardine on dennis kirk. i might shorten a 350x silencer to fit the ES header and see how that works

right - same engine, I did not know if there were frame limitations or something. I know there is not much room in there
