    yz490 question

    Does anyone have the rough dementions or detailed 490 pics? thinking of building a drag machine, Sorry but with 4 wheels.

    its the same as a tri z motor as far as mounts

    can it be water cooled? because i am thinking about making mine way faster... or do think i should go with the yz motor? and do any come with head lights?

    same stator .. just without the lighting coil ..swap it with a tri z and you got lights..

    water cooled 490... something like this

    You will never get a Tri-z stator to work in a yz engine without switching cranks.The flywheels are completely different between the tri-z and yz engine.As far as the 490 crank holding a tri-z stator and flywheel,I dont know that answer.

    looks like this project is getting scrapped for a HOnda 4x4 project. Im going to FST big bore and such my 88 Honda 4 trax 300 4x4. I think...IDK what the hell im doin, LOL.

    some one told me that the yz490 motor bolts but the the rear sproket does not line up does anyone how to fix this?

    hummm.. mine lines up perfict! with stock stuff.. I had to do a little shimming to run the lonestar sprocket hub ..

    Doesn't the WR500 have lights? It's the same engine correct?

    Raffa, how's the vibrations on that thing?

    its there but not as bad as a cr 500. The only time I notice it is sitting still reving it ,, yes the WR is the same stator also

    I had both stators out and there identical! the 490 stator is just missing the lighting coil.. same plug too.. the flywheel is the same also..ronnie had no problem shaveing it on the tri z jig
