84 R 36 MM carb jets

I have a 320 main and a 35 pilot, didn't ride the R much at all yet but with the airbox lid on and with K&N filter it seemed way rich throught out the powerband and just wondering if that size seems way out of wack to you for a 36 Mikuni?

# W41 and 36P4 are the #'s I found on it.

My reeds are fine yet, fresh top end, DG pipe.

I think I'm at about 600 above seal level.

you need to actually ride it and do some plug chops.. decide what ratio your gonna run in it,, then jet it..everyones bike is diffrent.. let it warm up and rip it to clean it out first... could be as simple as too mutch oil on the K&N

Yep, understand........I just wanted to see if someone came on and knew off the bat that it's really on the rich side, I know the former owner said he thought he had it jetted on the rich side but this thing was a blubbering pig when i rode it for 20 minutes, no way would it clean out except tha last 1000-1500 or so on top end.

With the huge lid off, that should make a difference right there.

What ratio/oil you run in your Z's Raffa ? Mine says 20-1 on tank but man, that was 23 years ago, oil came a long way since then,so I am thinking more of a 32-1 to 40-1 mixture ?

I run 50-1 you should try 40-1 with a good oil.. and start going down in main jets one at a time ..sounds FAT get the next 5 sizes in jets and a few plugs .. and start the process that 300 jetted correctly should RIP!

IN stock, cool, I thought for sure I'd have to order them, I'll check around.

You may have missed that plug chop link above, I never knew of that method of a plug chop, always thought to simply kill the engine and look at plug ......
