Stuck in gear?!?

my 86 200x is stuck in gear wont shift up or down with the shifter and it's in like 4th so i cant get move around lol.

What would cause this on the clutch side below it to the left there was this spring that was un hooked i hooked it back up to wear i thought it went, maybe that did it? I think don't remember..but i think it shifted fine right before.

I know it did before i change the rings, but during i think i messed it up. I have another engine I might try putting everything fromt his one into that..but it needs alot and i dont know the condition of the engine.

You did something wrong in there.If the shifter shaft slid out of posistion and is not indexed correctly to the shift star,then that would cause the problem.Pull it back off an check it out.If you are carefull you will be able to reuse the sidecover gasket.

Ok i'm in akron at my gf's right now, but what you mean by the shift star is umm that part that has like 5-6 teeth? I didn't unbolt anything inside the cases, i just had them off, but knowing my luck i'll double check.

found out what it was, the spring that hold it wasn't on, and a chain broke and this gear holder, i have pics i just have to post them.

my spare engine has the parts i need but this one part has 3 screws they are stripped so i'm stuck for now
