    blue 110 oddity

It seems the only difference between the 83 and 84 blue 110s are the decals. Mine has decals that are of a 1983. The noise and emission sticker says it conforms to 1983 regulations, ect. Well, the frame year ID sticker says its a 1984! Actually, the smaller date says 6/83 but the bold numbers say 1984 MODEL. The VIN reads JH3TB0203EC512768. The title also states its a 1984. Whats the deal here?

I would say you have an oddball here. Your VIN indicates a 1984 model - your BOLD number indicates a 1984 model - your build date of 6/83 indicates a 1984 model run - yet your decals are for sure a 1983 style. the 1984 blue 110 decals are different than what you have. Is it possible someone changed the tank and rear fenders at some point in time???

Here is the difference between the 2 years:

most likely, the emission regs didn't have to renew every year. It is like our helmets.... meets requirement of snell 2005, even though you bought the helmet in 2007.

    That is my best guess

The aging of the rear fenders and fuel tank is consistant with the front fender and the headlight shell. If someone changed the tank and fenders, they had to have changed the emissions sticker, but it is mostly intact.
