lol, i try not to make it sound easy.........
that process would actually be fairly involved, but it wouldnt be hard if you have done this sort of thing before.

but then again, most people dont run into the types of problems i have, so the "tricks" are unknown to most.

    1) Clutch lever was once a brake lever on a Schwinn
    2) They welded a bolt across the header and held it into the motor with a hose clamp around the frame...only because the welds between the header pipe and the broken exhaust studs didnt hold...nice
    3) They welded some makeshift mounts to the frame to get the 83 200x swingarm to bolt up.
    4) Not one brake part front or rear....just downshift to slow down I guess.
    5) Two shop rags and a zip tie for an air filter
    6) Not one bolt holding the gas tank on...guess you just hold it with your knees while your riding..
    7) Sweet chrome fold away grab bar..

Somewhere a villiage is missing it's idiot......
Maybe the guy who had your X had my R at one time too.

Hmmmm, I wonder how many people got severely injured because of redneck injuneering like that and then blamed it on the threewheeler?

I can't believe a certified honda mechanic would do such a thing. That bike seemed to be very well taken care of bud. But I guess you have to expect some problems with an old bike.

I guess one sure way to find out is to take one of the bolts to a hardware store like lowes.. they have that bolt chart usually where you can match up thread sizes, and pitch etc.. see if it fits into a standard or metric.

I'm sure most of the guys complaining about rigged bikes in this thread are themselves guilty of the same crime. I once jb welded an intake to a cylinder!

I need a bolt chart myself ! I have tons of bolts and nuts and a "chart" sizer would make it so easy to identify them. Are they available to us from somewhere?

You might of missed my post that the (other theory) threads may be right and fusion took place between the steel and aluminum and that's why they are siezed in there. The threads are not butchered up at all but then I guess they wouldn't be, it's the softer aluminum threads that get screwed up. I didn't visually inspect the threads real good in the trips yet though.

I never Jury rigged, red necked anything, well unless on trail and had to, even my 64 Schwinn Stingray I wanted just right
