    83/84 R shop manual fork oil amount is wrong.

    This is the SHOP manual I show here, not the owners manual.

    It calls for 280cc/2.5 ounces which of course that's wrong, 280cc is closer to 9 onces.

    It calls for 7 inches of oil in forks from top measured with them bottomed out, in order to do that you need closer to 300cc (+or- a bit) not 280.

    So if you just dump the 280 in, your running your forks quicker through the travel because there is more air volume in them and they will bottom out easier.

    It also may possibly be always riding overall lower in the stroke a bit.

    Mine only had 200cc in them !
