A caliper is a caliper... Right?

Does anyone know if the front caliper for a 85-86 250R is the same as a 350X? I have been told that they are the same part number, but have no way to verify this... Thanks to anyone who can help...

I have always wondered that myself, the 86 350X caliper seems like a bolt on caliper for the 85/86 250R. They may or may not use the same bracket, I don't have the 250R mounting bracket. The 85 350X does not seem to be similar.

Ya can't assume that it isn't going to work if the part numbers don't match. Honda changed part numbers for the simplest of reasons yet many parts are a direct swap. You can check at BikeBandit or Service Honda but it won't really mean squat. I have a spare 250R caliper and one on my 86 350X so if you need a measurement or something specific let me know.

a 86 350x front caliper is really close to a 85/86 250r caliper. I have tried to switch them, 350x caliper and 85/86 250r bracket, but the slides are off so little that it caused it not to "float".

A 250 R caliper will work on a 350X!!! The X bracket takes a tiny bit of grinding to allow clearance for the R caliper!!! Hooray for ME!!!
