    Newbie Intro

Hello all! I've finally got the time to start my Tri-Z resto this winter so thought it was time to join the site, i've been reading threads for a while now. Tri's are pretty rare over here in the U.K so forgive me for all the 'newbie' questions i'm gonna ask you..
Think my Tri is an '85 but if someone could confirm i'd appreciate it - engine number 38W-011986. Bought her as a basket case with the engine in a cardboard box, all the running gear axle etc are straight. My plans are to fit a 4 stroke motor, extend the swing arm & widen the axle. thanks Dee

    Welcome to the boards.

Yep, thats an 85, the 38W confirms it.

What 4 stroke you gonna put in it? Do you not have enough of the stoke motor to make it worth your time?

thanx for the welcome & cheers for identifying the year. Only half the motor is there so by the time i find the missing bits & rebuild.... be alot easier just throwing a YZF450 in. I've just finished cutting the right side footpeg off the frame, she's got all the faults you guys have written about!
Can you give me a rough idea on how long to extend the swingarm & how wide to go on the rear axle, plus has anyone altered the front rake?
