    banshee help...plzzzzzz

    okay...well i friend bought a banshee a month ago and and he just redid the wiring harness(got a new one that is) so all we did is change out the wiring harness and the few switches he was missing and now is sounds like it hitting a rev limiter at mid range no power at all so whats up....it a 89 what could it be??? cdi or coil???like i said it ran unbeleiveable before... thx

    Well stock banshees do come stock with a rev limiter built into them so that's what it could be. There's something you can remove and it'll scream! but you don't have that added protection if over revin the motor and blowing it up

    The wiring harness you switched,did it have a little black box wit 2 wires mounted to it?It bolts on under the gastank at the front frame rail.That is the tors system.Make sure it is disconnected.Just unplug it all together.

    Did you change out the original cdi and coil too?
    Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

    yes i had it.... and i tryied unhooking that also no change in the running of it going to get a new coil and cdi this week...

    once you unhook those wires you have to hook them together,to form a loop

    i take that little box off and throw it away .. cut the wires on the thumb,cut the wires on the carb's and the wires that go to the carbs on the harness and the wire off the harness that goes to the little box

    I wasn't to sure where the box was located but I know what it was. Yea hack that sucker all off and leave it be... it's still "stock" if you think about it haha just took off added weight

    Just remember, be cautious of over revvin' it

    hey Mike ... Anybody with a 2-Cycle that runs it 4 miles TOP END on a Road and or hits the rev limit without "letting off" .some .... doesn't need a 2-Cycle'd Bike !
