Dont do that, your asking for trouble. Heat the housing with a torch, they will fall out.

It took a lo of finesse, but they came out. We used a blow torch and penetrating oil combined with a bit of banging and prying.

Use your heads you guys. Its hard to get a swinger in a press and get good pressure on the berring, Too much heat can realy make you end up taking back steps. Just get a die grinder or dremmel and cut it out, Takes a little more time but you wont screw anything up.

or take a socket that is just a shade smaller than the bearing housing put a bolt through the hole with a bigger socket on the other end for bearing to fall through and a nut on the bolt and pull the sucker out. once you get one out grind down the old bearing just enough so that it wound get suck back in the swingarm and you know have a bearing push-er-outer tool for the other side. oh get some fender washers too.

I hope you rookies don't install the new bearings with the same removal methods!

I had a friend tack weld a nut to the bearing race then I threaded a rod into the nut through the swinger and tapped the bearing races out, worked great and didn't hurt the swinger at all. I had him practice on the stocker before doing it on the westcoast....
