200s idles real high??please help

i placed the pulse gen from my 82 200e on my 84 200s to get it to run (it was'nt running before) and now it runs but idle real high i already backed out the idle screw and changed th clip setting on needle this did not slow it down idid notice that the throttle valve is larger than my other to reds and looks like the same carb that my 84 200x has like the throttle valve, choke setup, etc. etc. what do you guys think??

Have you cleaned the carb? Clean air filter? Plug? Could also be an air leak.

plug is good air filter is off have not cleaned carb yet.... should it matter if this is a 200x carb?

Probably not. Clean that sucker out and don't forget the jets.

I took off the carb and put my 82 200e carb on it, it does not idle as high still working on it. I took a closer look at the carb and throttle cable and lever and all of it is exactly like my 84 200x one thing i noticed is that the cable did not let the throttle valve go down as far as the 200e cable

when i press the throttle and let go it wants to continue at a high rev for awhile any ideas?

sticky cable, the other carb is broke too..lol

cable moves freely and worked fine on the 200e

are you sure youve installed the slide properly? also try to sparay carb cleaner on the intake while its running if it idles higher then you have a cracked intake
