    get me riding my ytm

Ok, so i got the carb working good, after many cleanings and replacing parts. Now is the new problem. Im thinking it is clutch related. It idles fine, but once put into gear it boggs and dies. If i put the rear end on a stand it will flow through all gears nicely and isnt it supposed stay running even in fufth gear while not moving? or does it have to be in neutral if i want it to stay. So how do i adjust this clutch? Ive tried loosening it up all the way so that the lock nut just barely is on the bold, still dies. Ive heard to unscrew the nut until you feel tension, but i feel none, and the bolt spins freely to. I think im going to take the clutch out and check the plates. I have the machine stripped to the frame for painting, gonna be black plastics and green frame with red accents on the engine. ill have pics in a few days. Any help is appreciated. thanks ,Jake.

Was it sitting for a while before it started doing this?

I would pull apart the clutch and clean it up, also make sure the adjuster is working. Sometimes the adjuster will get stuck so then you think you are adjusting the clutch it isn't.

ok i think i found the problem. i cleaned the clutch which wasnt eady to get into (why the hell yould your put philips bolts to hold the housing on?) And cleaned the plates and everything. Then i noticed some shavings, i think they are from the adjustment screw, is there supposed to be a pin coming out of it? because theres a hole in mine that doesnt go all the way through, and isnt threaded, if there is supposed to be a pin in there, where do you position it in the clutch, before the plate that holds the springs in?
    thanks, Jake.
