    350x cooling ideas

Also to make the 350x run cooler could you put that little computer fan behind the oil cooler, would that work?

without looking at it id say all you need to do is have the stock one hooked up normal but have the return line running to the second cooler and just run a new return line to the motor off the second cooler

Theres two ways to go about cooler oil temps. More heat to surface air transfer (the oil cooler), or more capacity in the oil system, (inline resevoir perhaps)?

Ya what I was also thinking, cause the 400ex has a oil canister that holds extra oil. That would be intresting if you could put that on the 350x. If you could thoe where would it mount up and wouldent it make the oil pump work harder?

It shouldnt make the oil pump work any harder. The oil pump will still move the same amount of oil as before its just got a larger reserve of oil. Same concept as a oversized oil pan on a muscle car.

The trick would be to mount it up at the same level as the oil in the engine so as to not create a way for it to drain down and overfill the engine as were not using a drysump application. Plumbing it in is easy, just run the return line off the cooler to it and then from the oil resevior to the return line on the engine. The desirable place to mount it would be behind the engine as its more protected. The swingarm would be most likely in the way though.

Another thought on the cheap cheap, is find a small a/c condenser out of a car that will fit under the rear fenders laying flat. would add a very large amount of volume in addition to a large cooling grid.

you can etch the inside of your frame out and run oil through it

it would take a little work but it would be cool

What about running an automatic trans cooler from a car, say underneath the frame where the engine sits. Just have to fab up a new skid plate to cover it so you dont bang it up.

You would lose at least 2 inches of frame cradle to ground clearance and what about your engine oil drain plug?

Lots of good suggestions here but Honda was one heck of a great engineer. This isn't being run on the BAJA 1000 and again, ya have to ask yourself what is going on or why is this machine running hot?? Here in the Northeast we have crazy hot and humid days, not to mention that 350X's were sold all over the world in all driving conditions.

    I'll bet it's running lean......
