in need of some help--rust removal

    Hello all you bike fans

i have a yamaha xj 750 and i would like to know how to get surface rust of the exhaust headers without sanding then or sandblasting. I heard but could be wrong that if you soaked the headers in WHITE VINEGAR OR LEMON JUICE OVER NIGHT THIS WOULD LiFT THE RUST OFF BECAUSE THEY CONTAIN ACID, i was wondering if PHOSPHORIC acid would work. If you have any other suggestion would like to hear them. I want to make the exhaust next to new for the wife, without having to buy one.

Take a copper wire brush to it and then buff it out with 000 or 0000 steel wool...should come out good.

Any time man. Just be sure that you use a fine copper brush, copper is softer than steel so it wont scratch it up.
