One problem I'm having is I dont know how to take the needle out of the slide to check where is at. I got new feul mixed (3:1) and a new plug..I also made sure the slide is all the way down. with the idle screw out. its just kinda early to fire it up around here...

It was just boggin pulling out.. once I git it going it went fairly well... so idk...

OH, when I do a plug chop do I let off the gas then hit the kill switch or just lill it at WOT?

unscrew the slider and pull it out ,, Disconnect the cable from the slider, pull the spring up and remove the keeper theres two screws under that plate remove them and the needel will fall out when you turn it upside down the stamp will be under that plate and on the needel..go ahead and raise the C clip one groove..this will give you a crisper 1/4 to 1/2 Pay attention to the stamps.. you dont want any 86 parts in there..or you will never get it jetted right. Ill be in and out all morning my radiator blew on my truck NOW! What next?

Start with basics, Its most likely a fouled plug you dont want to go rushing into stripping the carb down just yet if its been running ok before with this setup .

Try a new plug, if that doesnt help, I had a blocked spark arrester with the standard can that made the engine so it would barely rev, After trying everything else I took out the sparky and it ran better then ever before. I now run a answer pipe on it. Look at the airfilter too, Unlikely to be the issue, but it sounds like its being choked.

Have you changed the plug yet? not cleaned, changed with new.

If that doesnt work, then it could be fuel supply.

Sounds to me like the problem is only in the low circuit. Is this a new problem? Was the bike running good before? You said it will get up into high rpms, just doesn't like to go from idleing to 1/4 throttle. And wont idle on it's own, can you keep it running just by giving little blips of the throttle? Could have a clogged or wrong size low speed Jet in there. Also one clip from the bottom on the needle sounds too rich to me, go one up from middle and try it. If it will go wide open then it's not a fuel delivery problem.

I'm still trying to get my Z dialed in and don't have it right yet. I'm just trying to change one thing at a time so I don't get too far ahead of myself!

i wish i was there, i could get it going in just a few, got extra carbs etc...
i think you need to make sure you undid the chain from the tree where you tie it up at night, when all the slack is gone, BAM, stalls every time!
turn the feul on?? maybe try and put fuel in a bootle and gravity feed in into the carb, this wlll tell if its the pump

Chris I was looking at the ride thread and you said it dies when it goes in first. Is it doing the same thing it was when we were up? If so git her to warm up and put it on blocks to get the plates free
