    tri-z head gaskets.

I'm having trouble over here in the uk getting a head gasket for my tri-z, i've done some searches on here and some people say that the 1983 yz250k is the same and others say the 1985 yz 250 is the same, can someone who knows for sure tell me the exact year that i need. also is there a difference between the cylinders and gaskets on the 85, 85-1/2, or the 86 tri-z's, thanks guys i'm finding this site a great source for information.

1983 yz 250 is the only head gasket that is the same bolt pattern as 85-86 tri-z. 84 up yz WILL NOT work! 83 oem's save some cash over oem tri-z and work great. I can give you the part # for it if you like. Personally don't like aftermarket head gaskets. Oem's seem to work better.

Use the "K" model. L is 84 and won't work. I have a 84 yz 250 and the head gasket will not fit over the tri-z cylinder studs. Or yeah, just use a complete gasket kit for a tri-z if you wish.
