Aluminum rear skid plate for 84 R - Anyone interested in one?

Anyone on here capable of making them and interested in doing so if they have a skid plate to go by ?

If so, any idea on the approx cost ? I'm sure you could sell more then one if you felt like making a few.

This is the 84R here .........

Why you ask ? Well of course I didn't know there was one made, thanks man, that makes me very happy!

The rear holes look farther apart though, you think so too ?

Also, looks like it would set down farther, quite a bit farther then the stocker ?

For what it is, that price seems like a bargin, if it fits that is ?

I find it odd that the 83 one is constructed more heavy duty in the rear then the 84 one.

Always thought they had the same swingarm but looked them up and have two different parts numbers but to be that different that they would construct it like that, I'm stumped as to why so different ?

Wierd that they made the brake side channel the full length, it serves no purpose like that, I think??, just adds weight.

Like said though, heck of a deal for 90 bucks.

I'm going to call them, see if I can get a pic of one on a machine .

Yea I know, that's what I'm saying, why is the 83 one constructed so much stronger in the rear, I never thought the swingarms were that much different?

I'll bet they weigh at least double of the stocker, you think so too ?

The weight I'm not really worried about , just remarking that I think it will be at least double the weight.

I am worried about how low it will be though, it "looks" like it will set on arm at least an inch or more lower then the stocker and since it is stronger, way stronger, and if you would bend it up into the rotor or sprocket, you can't bend it back down on the trail like you could with the stocker.

You would have to hit something pretty hard to bend it though, so I guess I'm thinking worse case senario here.

dude I have hit some serious stuff eith my omf and it isnt any differnt that the PRM's and its not bent, its got deep gouges and scrapes but it has never bent on me, you would have to hit a boulder at light speed to bend it, so I think your safe, and plus, when are you going to actually ride it? lol!

I had a feeling that was coming next and who knows when, I'm doing all sorts of things to it right now, just keep adding to the list, I'm sure you know how that goes!

You have a good pic of yours on machine ?

OK, I'm just glad you replied and let me know this info.

One of these days/years they may stop making them for the 83/84 R so I'm pretty sure I want one. I mean I don't see anyone running them at all, so you can't blame the company if it turns into another N/A item any more.
