    That is the best way to do it !! rather than have a serious buyer be outbid at the end and have a deadbeat bidder. Then the whole process goes down the toilet and everyone gets nervous.     I tried hard, but was being outbid. I went to $3800 directly to the owner, and was told I was being outbid hard . Wasn't sure If I was being played so I backed off.
    Guess there are a few more collectors around who don't mind paying up for a nice bike. Makes me feel better with what I already own.
