I saw two or three in Chicago back in April. I have loved these cars ever since I saw them on the Wii commercials. A buddy of mine that was with me when I saw them in Chicago said that he has seen a few in the Huston area also.
However, for the size that thing should be getting better then 40mpg. Take a look at the Chevy Aveo, it gets 37 mpg highway and has 4 doors, a bigger engine, larger in dimensions, plenty of cargo room (for a car of its size), and also cost less for a base model. The Smart car is still kick ass lookin tho
I agree, I say lower it alittle some kind of crazy little body kit and do alittle hop up to it and it would be a blast!! wider tires a must!! it would be like driving a super golf cart through traffic, if you do alittle research I found that they are commonly getting 50+mph the 40 is just an average and in one test it got 60+ highway running at 75mph! they go up to 90mph, theres a certain limit to how much milage a gas car can really get and still be somewhat fast as well, im really considering one of these next year, the price is right in my op and for what I do it will be perfect, and the base model is all I need, plus on there site you can contact them for special deals, and im going to contact them through my company to see if I can get a deal, kinda like a long term high mileage test vehicle (i put on any where from 1000-2000 miles on each week, and up to 500+ in some days)
dodge is having the chineese company Cherry make smart cars for them...they look pretty cool..but also VERY cheap
