i wouldnt be so against video games. I grew up with them and it turned out just fine. It was also a fun time to play mario with my dad some night. If its used excessively, then you have to do something about it.

Some one else suggesyed a video as well. It sounds like a good idea. I think it would be better than getting him more toys. He has so many Hotwheels, Legos, and Tonka toys now.

His grand parents already did that. It disapeared shortly after it showed up. I just remebered, he has a R\C Raptor. I forgot to leave it out for him. Thank you for bringing that up.

A video sounds like a great idea. And even though you may not be able to get it for him at Christmas time, Just make sure you come home safe and sound. You're the present that will last him a lifetime. Be safe and thanks for doing all that you are doing.

You're son sounds like mine. He is our only child and he definitely doesn't go without. Last year we built him one of those big wooden swingsets. Maybe a trampoline? My son has one of those too. By the way, he is 4. I understand the feeling to want him to feel like daddy's the greatest ever, but at that age, they don't really understand that, and in the case of mine, he really doesn't appreciate all that he has. I think a video or something like that that is "personal" from his daddy would be great. Of course your wife can pick him up the usual small toys and clothes, but get him something that let's him feel like his daddy is with him while your away. I assume you are in the military, and even if your not, I commend you for whatever you're doing. I couldn't imagine leaving my little buddy for an extended period of time. Good luck with your search and come back to him safe.

I am going to go with a video. But locating a camera is proving to be more of a challenge that I thought it would be.

I like the trampoline idea. He loves those things. I'll price some and maybe my wife can get one.

I had a 4wd nitro buggy that went close to 55 mph. Talk about scary, you hear it wind up, it shoots 4 rooster tails and it's GONE.
